Dean Nadia Castriota // Advisory Committee

Nadia Castriota currently serves as the Assistant Dean and Director of Admissions at Albany Law School in New York’s capital.  Dean Castriota is a member of the Dean’s Council and serves on the senior administrative team. Nadia brings over twelve years of higher education experience including enrollment management, student services, financial aid, and marketing. Prior to joining Albany Law School, Nadia was the Director of Admissions at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During her time there, she implemented and oversaw the law school’s recruiting and admission programs, and served as the school’s ambassador at national and regional forums. Before joining Case Western Reserve University, she was the Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Florida International University College of Law and also taught part time for the University.  Nadia earned her Bachelors of Science from Florida International University and graduated with her Masters of Science in Conflict Resolution from Nova Southeastern University.

 

Dean George Justice // Advisory Committee

George Justice currently serves as Assistant Dean for Admissions at Touro Law Center on Long Island in New York.  He has served at Touro Law for eight years.  Prior to serving at Touro Law, Dean Justice served for six years as Assistant Dean for Admissions at the University of Tulsa College of Law and served in the same administrative leadership role for five years at Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law.  George earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, MO, where he served as Director of Admissions and later as Dean of Students.  Before beginning his work in Graduate Admissions, George served as Director of Admissions at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA.  Dean Justice practiced law for five years in Norman and Oklahoma City, OK, immediately following law school graduation.

Coordinator of International

Internships and the Pre-law Career Program

As a member of the Magner Internship team, Pam is spearheading efforts to develop an interna­tional and on-campus internship program at the college. She has built strong collaboration and partnerships between the career center, academic faculty/academic departments, and the small business community. Pam has established partnerships with many nonprofit organizations and local political offices. As the pre-law advisor, she works with students on LSAT preparation, law school applications, law related internships and legal professional networking panel events. Pam is responsible for the center’s Foreign Service and entrepreneurship programs. She is initiating activities to support career and professional development for student Veterans at the college. Her professional affiliations at Brooklyn College include being a member of the NAPLA Pre-Law Ad­visors Assoc., the College Wide Election Review Committee, and amember of Brooklyn College Sustainability Council. She is the liaison to the Office of International Education and Global Engagement.

 

Vicky Gormanly, Esq. // Advisory Committee

Vicky is an attorney with Arnold & Porter with a practice focused on health care regulatory matters.  Vicky serves in an advisory capacity with The Focus Approach Law Review, where she advises, mentors, and educates students about the Law School Admission Test, the law school admissions application process, and the challenges of being an 1L.  Also, Vicky assists Focus with its diversity initiatives. Vicky graduated from Pace Law School, cum laude, in 2009.

Donna Bookin, JD // Advisory Committee

Donna Bookin, J.D., was admitted to the New York State bar in 1981 and was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts in 1982.  She is an Assistant Professor and Program Director for Paralegal Studies at Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY.  Ms. Bookin holds a BA degree in Political Science from SUNY Albany, a MA degree in Communications from the American University and a JD degree from Hofstra University School of Law.  Ms. Bookin is a member of the American Association for Paralegal Education and has presented at the national and regional AAfPE conferences.  

Peter D. Gormanly, Esq.

Founder and General Counsel, Peter is responsible for the Company's overall operation. A former Westchester County Assistant District Attorney, Peter has prosecuted hundreds of felony cases in both the trial and appellate courts.  A graduate of Pace Law School, he holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations.

Scott Sullivan, Esq.

Scott G. Sullivan, Esq. graduated Pace Law School of Law in 1999.   While at Pace he interned for Magistrate Judge Mark D. Fox in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and held the position of Dean's Scholar.  Scott is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut. Scott is a police lieutenant and a private practitioner specializing in corporate litigation and business and technology consulting.  Scott is also a staff instructor with Police Tutorial Service, Inc. (P.T.S.) and has been an Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University, Mercy College and Westchester Community College.  Scott has been with The Focus Approach since 2000. 

Jim Montagnino, Esq.

Jim Montagnino is Principal Court Attorney in Rensselaer County Family Court.  He is in his twentieth year of service in the New York State Unified Court System, having served as Principal Law Clerk to a County Court Judge in Westchester County, a Special Referee in the Matrimonial Part of the Supreme Court in Westchester County and a Court Attorney/Referee assigned to the Supreme Court in the Third Judicial District centered in Albany, New York.  He has drafted decisions for 36 Judges in cases ranging from murder prosecutions to multi-million-dollar class action lawsuits.  His previous legal experience was as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, where he prosecuted appeals of serious felony cases through the highest courts in New York and as felony trial counsel at The Legal Aid Society of Westchester County.  He is a graduate cum laude of Princeton University and Pace Law School and has been a frequent Continuing Legal Education lecturer for a variety of bar associations. Jim has been with The Focus Approach since it's founding in 1995.

Stephanie Chow, Esq.

Stephanie is currently the Director of Student Services and Residential Life at Pace Law School. After graduating cum laude from Pace Law School, she was admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.  While a law student, she was the President of the Student Bar Association, a Dean’s Scholar, a research assistant, a teaching assistant for the New York Legal Education Opportunity Program and a legal intern and summer associate at a law firm.  Stephanie received a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. Stephanie joined The Focus Approach in 2010.

Anthony Desiato, Esq.

Anthony Desiato, Esq., graduated magna cum laude from Pace Law School in 2012 and is admitted to practice in New York.  After graduation, Anthony returned to Pace in his current role as the Assistant Director of Recruitment Marketing.  An independent filmmaker, Anthony started his own production company, Flat Squirrel Productions, and has directed documentaries and short films.  Anthony joined Focus Approach in 2013 to create video content for the website.

Currently serving as a Westchester County Assistant District Attorney, James is responsible for vertical prosecution of criminal cases from arraignment to trial.  A graduate of Pace Law School, James has been active in The Focus Approach since preparing with Focus in 2006.
